I have been trying out the improvements in iClone 8 and they are substantial. I am hopeful that I will be able to make some decent-looking animations with this tool at last 🙂
When I am not writing, acting or otherwise engaged I like to make things. These are a selection of props made for a stage play. Balsa, boxwood and silver tape are relatively cheap and are usually quite adequate stand-ins.
I’m happy to report that both Nine Lives and Parsley have been accepted by the Top of the South Film Festival 2021. Nine Lives will be shown in the Gold Reel and Parsley in the Silver. Both these films are a testament to the teamwork, skill and enthusiasm of several people; it was a privilege working with each and every one of you. I will also be entering Parsley into the All Shorts Festival at The Village Theatre in Takaka.
Next!
Balance in life is important so, having written a script featuring a cat, I had to write one that at least contained traces of dog. “Parsley” will be directed by Breigh Fouhey, AD/Script supervisor is Donna Botha and it stars Beccy Myers, Sarah O’Connell and Cameron West. DoP and editor is Peter Blasdale and Sound will be handled by Kevin Tye. So all I need to do is organise the location and catering 😉
Work is well underway on my next project Called either “9 Lives” or “Cats” (apparently someone has already used that name though). Barry Sangster is Producer with Sarah Connor as 1st AD, Cameron is DoP, Betsy will be on Camera, Pete on Sound and Editing, Beccy Myers is our Director and Torrey will be Technical assistant again. Gayle, and Phil McArdle (a veteran of many ToTs shorts) along with Anna Burns (another ToTs regular) will be my co-actors. Yup I’m taking the plunge, it was pretty inevitable given that the lead part is a grumpy old Scottish guy who hates cats. Shooting dates are currently planned for April 10th/11th. Watch this space!
